Retirement Portfolio Net Worth - As of Feb01-2024

 The goal:

1. Retirement Equity Portfolio of $1,000,000
2. Passive income from Rental Portfolio of $70,000
3. Annual Passive Income of $100,000 (rental income + dividends combined)

We are currently mortgage free but won’t be including the value of our principal residence or cottage as we have no plans to sell either. We have also omitted the value of our workplace defined benefit pension plans and children’s RESP.

COMMENTARY:
I've decided that my goal of $60,000 in passive income was too low to support all our retirement plans. I'm moving the goal post up a whopping $40,000 to $100,000 of passive income a year. I'm also changing my second goal to be cash flow based as opposed to value based. The new goal is $70,000 of passive income from our rental portfolio. This makes more sense to be as we'll be living off the cashflow and and not the property value.
