Retirement Portfolio Net Worth - As of Nov1-2022

  The goal:

1. Retirement Equity Portfolio of $1,000,000
2. Rental Portfolio Value of $1,200,000
3. Annual Passive Income of $60,000 (rental income + dividends combined)

We are currently mortgage free but won’t be including the value of our principal residence or cottage as we have no plans to sell either. We have also omitted the value of our workplace defined benefit pension plans and children’s RESP.

COMMENTARY:
October was slow and steady. We didn't purchase or sell any equities and everything was quiet with the rentals. Despite the dismal performance of the stock market in 2022 our our dividend income is actually up 20% when compared to the same time period last year. This is encouraging as one of the pillars of our early retirement plan is dividend income. This gives some comfort that we'll be able to ride out the occasional bear market without cutting back our spending.
