 The goal:

1. Retirement Equity Portfolio of $1,000,000
2. Rental Portfolio Value of $1,200,000
3. Annual Passive Income of $60,000 (rental income + dividends combined)

We are currently mortgage free but won’t be including the value of our principal residence or cottage as we have no plans to sell either. We have also omitted the value of our workplace defined benefit pension plans and children’s RESP.

COMMENTARY:
I was fairly busy with the rentals in Jan. Luckily I only had to spend a negligible amount of money. Most of the work was sweat equity. We also made $13,000 worth of contributions to our TFSA accounts.
